Encanto Characters

In Disney’s Encanto, we meet a whole family endowed with magical abilities, but that’s not the only exciting thing about them. Since its release, Encanto has been plagued by speculation about the characters’ ages and other personal information. Thankfully, Jared Bush, the musical’s director, has addressed the audience’s concerns in a series of Twitter conversations. Then, he sets the record straight about the Madrigal family’s chronological order, pointing out the subtle differences in age and demeanor among them.

How Old is Mirabel in Encanto?

Mirabel, age 15, is the youngest child and youngest sister of Isabela and Luisa, and the youngest child of Julieta and Agustin. To the Madrigal family, she was born. As the niece of Pepa and Félix, Mirabel is also a cousin of Dolores, Camilo, and Antonio. Although she lacks any notable skills, she greatly respects and admires her family members. She has good relationships with most of her relatives. She is also humble and forthright, admitting without hesitation that she and her father share a propensity for accidents.

Description of Look

Mirabel is a 15-year-old Colombian girl with a height of 5 feet and 2 inches, black hair that is flowing down to her chin, thick eyebrows, hazel eyes, and noticeably dark freckles over her nose and cheeks.

Papa Pedro: While attending a party for the festival of Day of the Little Candles, the father of the enchanted Madrigal family, Abuelo Pedro (who may be the Casita), meets Abuela Alma. They began dating right away, eventually married, and had triplets. The community they were living in was interrupted by the invaders, prompting the villagers to leave and Pedro to make the ultimate sacrifice to rescue his loved ones.

Papa Alma’s Older Sister: Abuela Alma is the reason the Madrigals were granted the miracle, even though she had no supernatural abilities of her own. Fifty years before the events in Encanto’s narrative occurred, her candle had magical properties.

While the movie’s chronology was intentionally hazy, Alma had watched over the town for fifty years, ensuring that the enchantment and the talents of her children and grandchildren were not lost to the world. Assuming Abuela was almost as old as her late husband, she would be 75 or 76 years old at the time of the film’s events.

Julieta: Julieta, the mother to Isabella, Luisa, and Mirabel, has a special gift: her cooking has the power to cure anyone who eats it. Mirabel’s hand and her husband Agustin’s bee stings are both healed by her at Encanto. Abuela Alma’s triplets are close to 50 years old now that it has been half a century after the miracle occurred. According to Bush’s tweet, Julieta is the eldest of her siblings because she wants to assist everyone in the neighborhood.

Agustín’s: In the Colombian-inspired film Encanto, Agustin’s age is never mentioned directly; nonetheless, it is shown that he is younger than Julieta and her siblings. His clumsiness and propensity for mishaps lend credence to this theory and likely contributed to his relationship with Julieta. Agustin does not have any supernatural powers since he married into the family. But it merely made him more human and approachable to Mirabel and the rest of the crowd.

Isabela: Isabela, the oldest granddaughter of the Madrigals, has felt the weight of expectations to be the most beautiful and faultless of all the grandchildren her whole life. The closing chapters of Encanto show a shift in her flower and plant-growing abilities as she comes to terms with her humanity. While the events of the film are taking place, she is 21 years old.

Luisa: Luisa, who is introduced in the song “Surface Pressure,” is the village’s resident runner thanks to her super-strength, which allows her to effortlessly raise bridges, modify dwellings, and do tasks. The sister, who is a classic example of a middle kid, puts up a brave front to maintain her family’s approval. Unfortunately, she is also worried that she will fall short of her village’s high standards. Luisa, a native of Encanto, is now 19 years old.

Mirabel: Mirabel, the youngest daughter of Julieta and Agustin, is the only Madrigal who does not possess any kind of magical ability. Despite being unlike the rest of her family, she is essential to reviving the miracle and reestablishing the Casita. According to a Twitter thread started by Bush, Mirabel is 15 years old in Encanto, making her somewhat younger than her cousin Camilo.

To now, Disney Has Not Announced Encanto 2

Disney has taken a neutral stance on rumors about a sequel to Encanto. However, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of a sequel. Encanto’s success is comparable to that of “Frozen” and “The Incredibles,” both of which led to sequels.

So far, there has been no official word on whether or not Encanto 2 will be developed, hence there is currently no estimated release window. And since making a Pixar film is so time-consuming, audiences have to wait years between releases. A release date is unlikely to be determined anytime soon, but the film’s obvious attention to detail proves the worth of patiently anticipating a work of real artistic heart and soul like Encanto.

If a sequel to Encanto were to be made, the original actors would almost certainly return. The return of the cast would be guaranteed, including Stephanie Beatriz, John Leguizamo, Wilmer Valderrama, and others.

Since the mountain is now available to visitors, new personalities may join the cast as well. Story information for Encanto 2 is still unavailable, although fans may make informed guesses based on the first game.

Since how old is Mirabel in Encanto is the only one who can reach and talk to Casita, she may be thrust into the role of the family matriarch. She could be the next person to light Abuela’s enchanted candle. Whether or not a sequel to Encanto is produced, the original film has a diverse and interesting cast of individuals across all age ranges, guaranteeing that there is a tale here for everyone.
